Quackgrass Control in Cool-season Kentucky Bluegrass Lawns

Selective control of Quackgrass, and other weedy grasses and broadleaf weeds. Will not kill desireable Kentucky Bluegrass however, temporary stunting or chlorosis may occur following application for a couple weeks.

2 applications at 14 day intervals.

Spring and Fall are best times to treat.

Very reasonably priced.

Excellent results are achieved with this Post-emergent, systemic herbicide.

We use a uniform fan spray with no back and forth movement to achieve best results.  Our mini boom  turf applicator is the most accurate and uniform method of broadcast applying this herbicide.  The dose of this herbicide is so small that accurately applying this product is very important.

Some weeds controlled:

Little barley, catchweed bedstraw, annual bluegrass, bulbous bluegrass, burweed, buttercup, mayweed chamomile, common chickweed, white clover, dandelion, wild garlic, henbit, ground ivy, johnsongrass, tumble mustard, wild mustard, field pennycress, quackgrass, sheperds purse

A Personal Note:  Most lawns we see about 90%-99% control on Quackgrass.  This spray works.  Slow acting.  Discolors the lawn for a month or so after application.  Injures or kills the ryegrass and fine fescues in the lawn.  Will not kill Kentucky Bluegrass, only stunts it for about a couple weeks.  Afterwards your lawn is virtually free of Quackgrass.

This application I consider to be minor rennovation in extreme cases to barely noticeable depending on your lawn.  For lawns with alot of Quackgrass infestation we suggest overseeding the lawn shortly after the application to fill in the lawn faster as the dead weedy grasses die off.  Also keep watering and fertilizing your lawn to keep your remaining desireable Kentucky-Bluegrass thriving and recover faster.

You must be aware and accept the fact that your lawn will look terrible shortly after it is sprayed for about 4 to 6 weeks as it is eliminating the Quackgrass.  In my opinion the benefits of this spray easily outweigh the short term disadvantages.  Your lawn will look incredibly great after the Quackgrass is eliminated.

Your lawn takes on a whole new look.  As if you tore up your old lawn and put in all new sod.  It is that dramatic of a change.  A change we think you will like.  Not to mention the savings to you.  The cost: of eliminating your entire lawn, labor, soil prep, new seed or sod are far greater than this spray, and re-establishment time is quicker with this treatment versus re-establishment time for seed or sod.

The small cost of this treatment will easily add much more return to you in increased value to your home upon selling, increased neighborhood value and aesthetics, peace and harmony and the joy received with a nice looking lawn, ....

New Label Change:

Monsanto recently updated the Turf Herbicide label 2011-1 on packaged goods. These changes are effective on product packaged and shipped after May 2011. All cool season turfgrass uses have been removed from the 2011-1 label. The product can still be used on warm-season turf.

Product packaged before these changes can continue to be used according to label directions in cool season turf, but any future use will be labeled only for use in warm-season turf like bermudagrass and zoysiagrass.

This herbicide is the only herbicide labeled for selective control of quackgrass in cool-season turf (primarily Kentucky bluegrass). Quackgrass will now need to be controlled with non-selective applications of glyphosate (Roundup).

We still have old label inventory of this herbicide so use is still available to you.  But once it is gone this program will no longer be offered.  If you have been putting this off, your time is running out.  Act now.
